Journey into Aboriginal Wisdom
SLaM Post-Conference Travel Program, 12-16 September 2011
You are invited to spend five days camping in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges (about 1.5 hours from Alice Springs) with Medicine Man Frank Ansell. This program introduces you to the wisdom, cosmology and spiritual healing approaches of the Eastern Arrente people of the Central Desert.
Quick Info about the Program
Dates: Monday 12th to Friday 16th September 2011.
Cost: Program fee is $1,750 and includes pick-up and drop-off at Alice Springs, all camp-related equipment, and meals.
Travel: Participants make their own flight arrangements. Flights from Sydney to Alice Springs are only available in the morning. Participants will be picked up at the Alice Springs airport at midday; from there we drive to Frank’s ancestral land where we set up the camp. Frank Ansell
Frank is a traditional Nungkari, or healer, who has been chosen by the elders of his community to share their traditional culture and healing practices with others. This journey will expand on this year’s SLaM (Spirituality, Leadership and Management) conference that explores the theme “Wisdom at Work”.
Frank’s work is guided by his ancestor spirits and by the healing power of the land and the many teachings and lessons that have been part of his journey as a healer. He understands the greater opportunity that lies in sharing his knowledge and gifts with leaders and change agents whose goal it is to help heal and transform the organisations and communities of which they are a part.
This work allows individuals to tap into their own spiritual resources and healing capacities and to recognise our interdependencies with one another, the natural environment, and the larger spiritual universe. We can expect that this experience will be transformative, and contribute to the real reconciliation between “white” and Aboriginal culture.
Frank combines ancient aboriginal teaching with modern techniques, and offers a gentle, intuitive style of wisdom and humour that provokes people to reflect on the how’s and why’s of their actions and where they want to go. With profound simplicity he releases blocks that have held people back from achieving their goals and facilitates them to unfold their greater potential to make a difference in their own and others’ lives.
